The Oregon Clinic Campaign Increases Screenings by 60%

We had the opportunity to work on a tremendously fun campaign with The Oregon Clinic last year (if you live in Portland, you may remember the billboards) — bringing awareness to a very serious topic.

Recognizing that people had been cutting back on screenings because of the recession, The Oregon Clinic wanted to find a way to remind adults that while colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., screening can detect pre-cancerous polyps and save lives. Ultimately our objective was to increase cancer screening appointments. In conjunction with Colon Cancer Awareness month, we kicked off the Rock Stars of Gastroenterology TV spots — which dubbed GI specialists as “awesome in a white coat” (it’s hilarious… you should watch it right now). Just recently The Oregon Clinic measured the success of the campaign. Good news: clinics reported a 60% jump in screening colonoscopy appointments between March and September of last year! The Oregonian recently wrote this article giving praise to the project: Social Media Marketing Creates Bonds With Patients at The Oregon Clinic It was a campaign that everyone here played a part in and enjoyed — and we’re looking forward to it again this year. Do us (and yourself) a favor, and go get screened!
